Help! Whats wrong with my drain?

Hi everyone, we have had this drain problem for over 4 months, water from the kitchen sink spills over the drain and disappears down two holes at the side,these holes are getting bigger and are about 8 to 10 inches deep two garden slabs nearest the holes are very loose and wobbly when stood upon. recently the drain has blocked completely and water either backs up into the kitchen sink or empties into the washing machine. we have tried unblocking the drain with rods etc and we have checked pipework under the sink and they are fine but our landlord is still insisting its a blocked pipe.

Well if it is a blocked drain why has the landlord not had it unblocked then ???
Whether the drain from this gully is blocked or it has collapsed it has been leaking for some time into the ground & washing away the soil / ground around it, if this continues not only will the health hazard continue but there is a real likelihood that structural damage will occur as the foundations of the building will be undermined.
Tell them it is not only in your interest but theirs to get it fixed. ASAP

:iagree: that's what I was thinking as I read this post, certainly first place to start,
not the most pleasant experience but often a simple solution.
grease gets washed down the sink hits the cold gully and sets, over time builds up and blocks.

cheak nxt inspection down pipeline and see if thats chocked,if not you know roughy where choke is. landlords problem tho

Ya good advice, I would put it down to a collasped drain mate
