Hi
If a property has been left empty and the central heating system has been drained down and the gas turned off at the ecv, can the system simply be refilled, the gas turned on and the boiler fired? Or does all the necassary gas checks need to be done?

Thanks in advance.

Would pay to call a GSR in, to check boiler etc ! you can refill system to save some time, dont forget to replace inhibitor !!

If it's your own home you can do as you please, if it's tenanted property and you're the landlord then you have a duty of care and it'd be advisable to have a safety check carried out. In saying that it would be of benefit to yourself for your own piece of mind to have it all checked out regardless of occupancy by a pro 🙂 IMHO

best to get a gas safe engineer to re-commission/test the appliances.
were the appliances fitted correctly and working correctly when turned off? has anything happended during the period they have not been working which could effect there use/safety?
