Weird that this is somethin I have never been asked or done. Iv changed many 3 port valves 2 port valves etc and copied wiring! But a customer today after a boiler swap asked me to swap his programmer because this one is old!

.... Is this a simple enough task? What should I be looking out for, obviously behind this control
Box is a junction box anythin to look out for?

Existing system is open vented pumped s plan

you can just get a jnew updated version which will go on the same back plate. So no need to change any wiring

If you look at some of the manufactures ( of programmers) they can usually tell you what's compatible with that programmer and back plate

when you get a new programmer it should come with a sheet listing different old units and wiring configurations between then and the new one
