Hi,

Just moved into a new bungalow and the water pressure and flow is dire! Got an old iron pipe feeding the house, took a bit apart and there is so much rust the bore is less than a drinking straw.

Ive now got the crap job of running a new main in though my front garden, my question is how deep does it need to go?

Cheers

Martin

I thought so, thats gonna be fun!

This may sound like a daft question but can I connect to the stopcock in the road myself? Its within 6" of my front wall so could feasibly get to it from my side if I dug out enough.

There is some mdpe coming out of the meter actually, I can just see it disappearing into my boundry. With a little bit of a stretch I might be able to reach down and get onto it.

As said 750mm to 1350mm AMD technically you shouldn't make the final connection if its past your boundary but if you can get to it with out lifting the pavement then crack on,
Don't forget your 110mm soil pipe and elbow to go under the foundations and it needs insulation and sealing with cap ends
