Hi – I have a Perrymatic Jetstream Mk III 95/120 about 40 years old which is still working fine. I had the Riello R40 G5 burner unit replaced about 4 years ago. However, in the last few months I have noticed an occasional smell of unburnt kerosene in the cellar where it is situated. The Riello unit was never adjusted, so it was fitted as supplied in terms of fuel/air mix etc. The fitter claimed that it didn’t need adjusting, and anyway there is no probe point in the flue above the boiler to test it (there had been one but at some stage it has been blocked off). In previous times the engineer always tested the output, but now only replaces the nozzle and cleans out the boiler. Incidentally, the flue has never been swept – it goes up from the cellar in a couple of right angle bends and then into a 2 storey unlined chimney with no rodding access. Any advice?

Needs to be set up correctly as there variable output

On the older boiler there won’t be a flue port as you tend not to go off that
