Running boiler flu on top of kitchen cupboards

View the thread, titled "Running boiler flu on top of kitchen cupboards" which is posted in Boiler Advice Forum on UK Plumbers Forums.

My daughter is having a kitchen extension and the boiler is going to be fitted on an inside wall with the flu running around 20 feet along the top of her new kitchen cupboards and out the wall. I think it’s a normal combi boiler (maybe Valiant).

Is this normal and are there any safety precautions she should ask for, re heat into the cupboards or fire risk ? Or any problems you can think of ?
Thanks

No so long as the length is ok and the fall on flue is correct also right amount of clips, the outer part of the flue is the air intake so it’s alway cool and flue products heat is quite low that why you see a plume from the flue in colder weather

As above, there will be a maximum length.
If it gets boxed in there must be access hatches.
Make sure it’s done by a gas safe fitter and bit the builder.
