saftey boots

who wears saftey boots? i have always been a trainer guy only wearing boots when on a site or when i have to, but after standing on a nail this morning and spending 3 hours in the dr's having injections and a dressing put on i have vowed to always wear boots, actually going to hot up on all safety gear as you only get one life!

I remember the first time i worked on site, I bought myself a new pair of dewalt boots. That exact day I stood on a nail, went through my boot and luckily between my toes. I stood there for a moment thinking the worst, lucky boy.

On site I wear boots, but in peoples houses I wear trainers. People dont like you walking around their house in a big pair of boots I have found and more often than not they ask you to take them off, which rarely happens with trainers.

Standard walking boots. Get through about 3 pairs a year. Seriously.

Best boots I had were Timberlands. Followed by CATS, again standard boots, but lasted longer. Hate safety boots.

I always wear safety boots since I trod on a nail about twenty years ago and ended up in casualty. If you have an accident at work and injure your foot there isn't an insurance company in the country that will pay out fully if you're wearing trainers.

When I go into customers houses I've got a pair of neoprene overshoes that I can slip on until I get the dust sheets down.

It makes me laugh when you go into the merchants and see someone wearing a hi vis and trainers.

I wear safety boots on site, but in private homes I wear safety trainers. The trainers give good protection, are more comfortable and customers don't mind them as they almost look like normal trainers.

Always safety boots (with velcro closures - quick to take on and off when going into and out of houses). Riggers on site and when doing outside work.

I never wear riggers anymore, after using an Oxy torch to cut down a large wet collector silo on site (years ago) and getting a big gob of molten steel down the top of the boot while dangling from a rope set about 20ft up...
It's amazing how quick you can get a boot of when your foot's catching fire! lol

For me at the minute, it's a pair of normal walking boots as my steel toes were starting to wear out and get uncomfy. They are waterproof too, which is a bonus! haha

hello, i am new to this.....so hello! apparently i need 20 posts so i can talk about gas! so here i am talking about boots!!

The white trainer brigade should be made to join a boy band....as this is what they are basically trying to achieve.....

Trainers for me unless there's an inspection on site! I like light footware particularly if I'm fitting a verticle flue. Nothing worse than clumpy boots on a ladder or roof.

I find the toecaps in safety boots rub on my toes cant wear them for more than a couple of hours then I have to change back to my white stilettos far comfier!

When I first started wearing steel toecaps I found this, soon got used to it though, I also find there is quite a variation in widths of toecap.

depends on the sort of work you do!.
pair of waterproof merrils walking shoes, dewalt knee cappers in the van for site and a pair of slippers if the jobs taking to long and the customers ready for dinner or just good at making the tea.lol.

i refuse to take of shoes in anyones house due to h&s but i do have slipovers.

find steel toecap safety boots heavy and ***bersome, tho have a pair of dickies with plastic toe caps, prefer trainers, and like redsaw. wear overshoes

I wear safety boots all the time when working, you can't take chances in my opinion. I find it more comfortable to drive with trainers though, so swap whenever I can.

On a side note, I've got a few pairs of safety boots for sale, if anyone's interested.
