got called in to service this 350,meter was pouring out gas and the boilers insides were rotted replaced it with a 40 kw duotec HEA,it had even rotted the air duct

So was leaking more then incoming?
Was the meter protected at all? What did the provider say?

I do find those itron meters are more prone to corrosion then the Elster ones.
yep it was hissing its nuts of ECP said its very common,no prtection other than in a built in meter box
