Hi all - was wondering if someone could help. Last night we had an unbelievable blockage on our Saniflo top. I won't go into the cause but it didn't seem significant at the time. After a flush the toilet filled to the brim with extremely unpleasant water. It took some significant bailing followed by plunging to remove the blockage. At the time the water just kept getting worse in terms of unpleasantness.

At one point, although it didn't clear the blockage instantly, a small white disc emerged in the toilet bowl. I don't suspect we put it there although cannot rule it out due to having a toddler. The disc looks like a small cap or lid but is fairly flat with one side that has a rim and some small indentations going inwards. When it came up it was very scratched. I am not sure if this was the cause or the plunging has caused something in the internals to work its way loose. The cap is about 5 cm in diameter.

Can anyone advise me what this is? Was I right to plunge the saniflo? Everything seems fine now although no solids have gone down there since the 'incident'.

you should never plunge a saniflo ,some have a large slot on the pump impeller you turn with a large screw driver to free off if you have a blockage but this means removing the electrical box cover not a good idea if you cant test electrics as said sounds like the plungers made something come loose

here they are.... sorry for the delay (due to a young baby at home). It would be great if you could let me know what these are and whether I have worked something loose.

What model saniflo is it?

Can you not get the WC waste to a soil stack without using one?

it is a Saniflo top - and we were unable to get the WC waste straight out without using one ... limited floor space in a loft conversion.

Hi it looks like the cover for the carbon filter, it just snaps onto the top of the lid, there should be a hole similer size
