allright guys we have a fair bit of boilers in the unit that we have stripped which everything is in piles, so my question is what is worth breaking down and what is just worth weigh in

one of the boys said if a magnet sticks to it is worth more is this correct,

So currently using rays boiler boxes we have brass mixed ( bits of copper with fittings on) Pure copper, Pumps and zone valves, wiring, vessels, heat exchangers from combis etc which is copper what else can be scrapped PCBS ?

Holy Jesus that 5 hour labour bill netted you £59 extra.

Remove brass and copper hex some times Motors. That's it. Mixed is £359 a tone or there about a brass is ££££ copper 3.5k/ ton

Casings will most likely just be steel, flues sometimes are ally

Rough prices per tonne:

Brass/copper £3500
Aluminium/lead/stainless £1000
Pumps/motors £500
Steel/iron £150 (rads/boiler cases. sticks to magnet)

I tend to just put brass and copper in header tanks and weigh the rest in as mixed steel. You can waste ages separating stuff to make a few quid. I seperated everything once and it wasnt worth it.

I cut the ends off them on the chop saw as they are usually steel, pull the baffles out, steel too, and throw them in with the copper.

down side is heavy if holding above your head,

I drilled concrete which had pebbles in it which was not fun up in the deans livi, back in a few week neighbor 4 doors down spotted my van and we have an other boiler job grrr.

That estate is full of potterton neta heats with the tiny square flues
