Scrap copper????

After taking my scrap to the same dealer for many years I now understand that we face new laws!
my question is that do we now get paid by bacs and that cash is now stopped?
Also, how do we get on with Vat, ie, do the scrap dealers pay me vat and then I declare and pay vat to HMRC?

To my knowledge from yesterdays visit to the scrappies, no vat deducted or charged and you get paid via a cheque or bank transfer. Its just another way for the government to tax via our returns. And also to curb thefts IMHO
