Hi all
i didn't know where else to ask.

can anyone recommend a really good set of screwdrivers please? i want something that is really strong and will last. I bought what i thought was a bargain but after using, 1 slotted driver is already bent :mad2:.

i dont mind spending good money on them.

thank you.

Thank you for the quick replies.

looks like the Bahco it has to be then..mind you, the stanley fatmax do seem ok....

I rate highly the long wira ones (screwfix) great for boiler work.

I am a regular on my favorite car forum, a few of the lads on there really rate Halfords stuff. I haven't any myself, but they are always banging on about them, and they are tighter than us lot on here.

I second what gas man has posted, I have the same set, I like these as they can't rust and feel quality to use 😀

Thank you for the replies...much appreciated...

the wera set from screwfix looks quite nice..but then more people seem to favour the bahco which seem like they'll be more comfortable to hold...

A lot of screw bolts on machinery & some wood screws are Philips heads, so make sure you have a small & medium Philips screwdriver also, even though most screws are Pozidrive nowadays. Riello burners blast tube, for example, is Philips.
I have always liked some Stanley screwdrivers.

Used to use either whia, irrazola or rothenberger. Now I am a Stanley fat max convert without shaddow of a doubt the most comfortable screwdriver I have used.

It pains me to admit it but Stanley's fat max and fat max XL are really putting out some good tools at the minute

I use Halfords Pro screwdrivers. Not broken one yet, I've only had to replace them when I lose one.

I use Wera VDE 1000v ones. Most comfortable ones I've used and apart from being a bit dirty, the tips on them are still like new. Despite the guys I work with using them as chisels everytime I turn my back

I used to rate irazola but now seem cheaper! I like wiha at moment. The tips smooth so unlike wera ones the insulation dosnt snag and rip.

I've always used draper experts cos they're cheap at stax and easy to buy single drivers. Mainly using bahcos now though, picked up a set cheap.

Got a new set of wera in the office but not been out of the box yet

It depends very much what you intend to use them for.
Kits are ok but there always 2 or 3 you will throw in a drawer and a few years down the line you cant get in the drawer for the stupid sizes you have never used.
Buy them 1 at a time in the sizes and types you will use.
They all wear btw and need re gringing after a few months.

Had them and moved on to wiha vde slim lines. That is still have some of the wera ones. But they are in backup of backups
