Had a call back today on a system i was asked to drain put cleaner in flush then top up with inhibitor. Was a sealed system with a gs 28 i installed. Went about business as norm flushed filled back up etc flashed up got air out checked all rads got nice and toasty waited around for 30 mins or so just to make sure then left with everything working.
Got a phone call from cust today saying boiler not working properly , got there to find air was clanging around the circuit but not actually rising into rads or getting out through boiler aav,,, cant say ever had this before on sealed system even after fitting loads on contracts , has anyone else ever had this???

i just finished a job were there is horizontal radiators all total cost arpund 8k just rads ,problem is as they have been plumbed level and the way they have been made they all hold air pockets and they dont heat well ,even when i turned off all other rads and just left one working i was having same problem ! I am not worried as i did not supply or recommend them it is the architects idea

Hard to " catch" the air in sealed or vented systems. Air vents by themselves don't often remove air while pump is going. A Flamcovent removes air because it has a large body, which changes the pressure inside it, & also has little s.steel cylinder shaped things, that I can't recall, that catch the micro bubbles on their surface & up to auto vent. Simple idea that works.

always best to vent a system after a nice long off period, i always reccomend a custard to turn the boiler off before bed, then just before turning back on in the morn to vent the rads
