I suppose the blocking comment depends on how clean the pots are before they go in the D/W? Ours are swilled first.Yes don't use them for a start the water connection doesn't allow full flow, and the waste they block after time
Either do it properly or get someone in to do it
It's not just food waste. Soap scum and grease will also cause blockage over time

Probably more so in the non-return valve part of the waste fitting.
The self cutting valve for the water supply may not provide enough water flow to the dishwasher, they only cut in a very small hole and it may tester the amount of water the dish washer needs. Get some one to do it for you or do it properly with a washing machine valve and properly cut in section of waste pipe.
The self cutting valves for water are useless,
And if its easy enough just fit proper stand pipes for the wastes
Also don't think self cutting valves were around 20 years ago 😀
That dishwasher looks similar to pub glass washers which tend to have gravity waste rather than pumped waste.
How much did you pay said plumber and he wasn't from where you bought the appliance was he ?
It won't push past the non return or the upwards facing loop.Just read the manual again, it states under technical problems (the drain pump is not working, anti flood system has operated, disconnect from mains, disconnect water inlet, call qualified technician.
