So... what are you saying!?

no I haven't serviced the fire yet my question is can you service such a fire if so do you some how disable the back boiler (it may well be disabled )

Depends on manufacturer baxi used to say it's OK but boiler gas had to be capped not just turned off on 3 way tap. Ring manufacturer

I believe Baxi no longer allow the decommissioning of the Back boiler leaving the fire in use but if has already been done you can still check/service the fire.
The gas to the BBU must have been capped off and the electrics disconnected. The burner tray and all the gubbins must be be left in place.
Other than that just service/check fire as if boiler was still in operation.

Ths has been discussed so many times. There is a Gas Safe TB on this. Might be 009 0r 118. If not it is another😀
