hi guys. I’m just wondering whether most of you guys have a separate set of tools for servicing or whether you just take in your standard tool box? I haven’t done much servicing and my tool box at the moment seems to cover most jobs I do. I just don’t want to be dragging everything in with me if I can help it. Cheers.

I have a separate toolbox for servicing, but rarely take it in, I usually find myself just taking the odd tool out and putting in my main toolbox, and take that in. Might be worth investing in a good solid storage box (wham bam are good and cheap) and just taking in what you think you’ll need on a service? Or if you’re going to be servicing more than anything kit yourself out with that, countless times I’ve been moved around doing different things and ended up changing my toolbox to suit, doesn’t happen much now I’m in a fixed role.

I have a separate tool bag for service and repair. Why take a bag full of chisels pipe slices cutters etc when all you need is a few screwdrivers.

I use the monument one it's ok but I wont get another. I like the fact it's big enough to fit my analyser etc in it but my region manometer has already punctured the manometer holder, it is too big so also gets heavy over time, the tool holders are not brilliant and my 12" crescent grips only just fit in.

Separate veto tool bag. Love the fact that they are robust and high quality. If you service a lot I'd probably get another small bag but that depends on you how much you want to spend. Just have a look on veto pro bags they've got a lot of different type of bags.

Buy any veto bag and get a free tp3b tool pouch for free is the current offer. I got the veto propac tech xl for servicing and the veto MC for multimeter and wiring equiptment. They are overpriced but the quality is second to none and will outlast any other tool bag twice over!

Wasn’t Pimlico getting nuclear scientists and Astro physiatrists and members of the Rothschild family coming to get jobs, because they paid so much?

This is it @Riley

I do have a ck magma back spare so I may use that. I don’t really want to be dragging my general toolbox in as it seems to have everything in.

Got me one of those today from screw(u)fix. Forty squids. Looked at the veto (mate has one) and it is noticeably better but is not and cannot ever be 6 times better than the stanley. 6 times!! I don't stint on tools but veto price is crazy.

Can you fit your analyser and all tools in it?

I was looking at this bag before I bought the monument gas engineer one and I'm not overly impressed with it.

I like the look of the quick access truck sack but there are no photos of the inside.

Why do they use black material?
Like searching for tools in dark areas?
They should use more yellow, I've ditched good tool bags because I get pished off trying to find stuff down the bottom.

Loaded the new Stanley bag up today for its first outing. Both it and the veto seem to lack a chest strap which you need on a heavy rucksack- and it was heavy, so after 20 mins on, the hard base tray tended to dig into the lower back. I might get a chest strap put on it or put a bit of padding on it - you know what us soft southern plumbers are like... 😵

Very true, seems a bit nuts when you see what some people are willing to spend, £30k+ vans baffle me too.

Reporting back: all good, fully recommend, pull the straps tight and it sits well even fully loaded. Looks like I've got the price difference- an extra 200 quid to spend tonight!!! Luverly 😛😉

Some while ago I bought a Wera SH1 plumkit. Good tools but the wallet holding them deteriorated, or rather the elasticated loops did. On the search for a suitable replacement wallet I pushed the boat out and invested in a Kruk Garage tool roll. I use it primarily for boiler servicing/repair. It holds the usual tools plus my smoke pen, small hand pump and pressure gauge,

butane jet torch, (great for lighting smoke pellets) etc. Things like smoke pellets, multimeter, sockets and other bits and pieces in the zipped pouch.

I'm not in the trade but I use Dexter trousers and Clip on two "pockets" of tools. Each pocket contains tools for different jobs and I just swap them . I am not being paid and forgive the advertising.

Evening all sorry to open an old thread. But thought it better than opening a new one for the same topic. Anyone know the best place to go for Wera? Looking at maybe investing in some.
