HI
I fitted a whole house negative head shower pump to run two showers and a basin a few months ago and now the pump has started pulsing.

I have read other treads saying to use nrv's on the outlets, but can i do this if it is negative head?. someone else said to install a surrey flange.

Anyone have any advise please???

You need a surrey flange or essex flange. You're asking for trouble if you don't. If it's just to get a bit of lift like a 1 bar pump, Then you might get away without it.
A negative head pump would normally have NRVs on the outlets. So you're probably drawing air in from the vent pipe.

Ive used a large whole house pump as its suppling a first floor shower and a shower room in loft after a loft conversion ( the storage tanks are on floor level in loft below shower)

Do you think its sucking in air from the open vent or is it the water bouncing though the supply pipes between the pump and the showers?

Sorry dont have a pic. need to go back to the job this week. I,m guessing its because i tried to cheat and teed the hot in to open vent near to cylinder and not fitted a surrey or essex flange. Never worth it in the long run.

It is never worth it because now your going back for free! extra cost in material, time and labour.

Difficult in todays market though when the customer is constantly looking for cheap or even cheaper, some tradesmen then give a cheaper price and cut the quality of the work or cheaper parts and this in the long term costs that tradesman money.

Was never a case of the money or time just not fitted many pumps and a bit nieve.

It will cost me in the long run as i wont be happy until its right.

Happy customers = recomends
