Hi all, long time lurker on these forums

I have a problem with my shower not draining properly - I had a new bathroom fitted 2 years ago, during lockdown I’ve been cutting my own hair in the shower; I’ve been clearing most of the hair away, but can only assume whatever has gone down the drain has caused the trap to become blocked. I’ve tried to remove the trap without any success - I’m actually not too sure how it’s all been installed. I attach some photos. I’ve removed the screws, but can’t seem to be able to remove the part I am seeing; I don’t want to cause any damage to the shower/pipes

Any advice appreciated

Unlucky, it is one of those awful “twisto” ‘self-cleaning ‘ traps.
They are extremely difficult to clear I’m afraid. Poke about with wire, if you have a wet vac that’ll help.

If at all possible I would recommend changing that trap to one which can be cleared from above.

Thanks, that’s really helpful to know

Will see what I can do, but unfortunately the process of me opening the thing and putting it back together has now led to some water to be coming through the ceiling downstairs (wet patch on the ceiling). 🤬
