hi all,

i got to move a stop tap from one side of a kitchen to the other side, i have chased out the concrete floor for the pipe, but where it comes up to the current stop tap the pipe is on a bend and i have to try and solder an elbow on it. i have tried to chip away at the surrounding concrete to see if there is a straight piece of pipe lower down but so far i haven't found it.

any ideas???

p.s the pipe is 15mm copper.

Really avoid soldering on the bend, firstly the pipe will be thinner from the bending process and secondly it's unlikely to be round enough to fit the joint properly. I wouldn't want to try it for a critical joint like that. Keep digging !

hi nick,

thanks for the advice, i kept digging (bout 3" deeper in concrete) and eventually found a piece that was straight(ish) job done. took ages due to hacking out the concrete and cleaning the pipe up, but it is done and leak free.

thanks mate.
