Hello just been thinking about giving up my ATL course which is the 6189 I've passed 2assignments but thinking about going college and doing my nvq2 city and guilds 6129 any ideas sugsuggestion

and I also went to a interview today for hands on experience at a big family plumbing company they have a lot of work on at the moment but its only volunteer work at the moment he said and if he likes me after a week he will take me on ..........

take the job what have you got to lose except a week of your time if it doesn't work out.

on a plate mate. you dont get chances like that too often. i fail to see your dilema really. grab it with both hands. best of luck.

You may not get a second chance ,go for it , if your are voluntarying ,means you are serious .Just remember one think to exceed others ,you have to be multiskilled and outclass others .
To be a good plumber you will need other skills as basic electrics .
When you qualify as a plumber learn how to diversify eg learn about different systems open vented , unvented ,s plan , y plan wiring method , a lot of plumbers frightened when confronted with complicated systems .
Also try to get on with somebody who does gas ,possibly breakdown engineer.
Try to go all the way and get your nvq3 in plumbing , start teaching as you get older when your knees have had it.

Thank you guys I will grab the bull by the horns and go for it .

Good Luck and remember if you've got a problem and don't know what to do ASK!!! People don't mind helping and educating! I learn something EVERY day, yesterday I learn't not to use pushfit conn's on chrome pipe.....So you've learn't something by reading my drivel........Good Luck and report back on how you do/did...
