Hi, I'm a newbie here and with plumbing in general - please go easy on me 🙂
I am redoing my bathroom and moving the toilet from the old position where it was too close to the wall and not up to code. The old plumbing was done with a lead bend - I'm running pvc and connecting down the line. You can see in the picture that I've already run all the pvc. I am ready to close up the floor again, but I need to close up the existing lead connections.
What recommendation do you have to close up the old sink drain and toilet flange? I presume I'll need to cut them flush with the lead pipe. I just don't know what material would be advisable to use. I was thinking something like flex tape or an epoxy. but both of these options wouldn't adhere well to lead. I also don't have the option to cut out all the lead since the shower is still draining into the lead pipe which is connected to cast iron.
I'm a bit lost here and I'd definitely appreciate any help or knowledge you can impart.
Thanks!
