to Mait or not to mate

we used to use mait but now we use clear silicon, still got the mait in the van just incase its an emergency.

"special tip" dont give the apprentice the task of fitting urinal wastes and basin plug holes with silicon un-supervised, our newest brew pig was given the task of dressing the urinals, im done he said, ok you wiped it all down and cleaned it up didnt you? "yes he said". next day we went to finish off, found he hadnt wiped the silicon off the urinals, great big bulges of the stuff all round the wastes, took him ages to get it off with a stanley blade.

I've always used linseed oil putty , as that's the way a was shown, no had any problems yet

Foam washers!! Bin them and use clear silicone instead. Job done properly 🙂

Captain flood , i remember (only just) using linseed oil putty which i think is the glazing putty and we used to mix it with pollyfilla so it wasnt so sticky the texture was spot on as apposed to sticky ole
plumbers mait .
