day in the life of a self employed plumber

up at six am
travel 50 miles for boiler change (h/a)
cant find address and sat nav doesnt recognise post code (tom tom an phone sat nav)
Eventually find address turns out its not on a post code system
house is a bomb site carp everywhere
wait 20 mins for tennant to clear cupboard
drain f and e tank
handle snaps on bucket full of water bucket bounces downstairs full (annoyed)
now making progress on boiler change
go down to van to get tub of glue accidently drop it in nearby dog carp ( only tub i had)
accidently step on ugauge breaking it
flash up boiler glow worm hxi
hot water all good
heating circuit poor circulation
nightmare getting heating going sucking up mega time
tennant starts harping on about getting heating going
tennant now doing my head in
tennat still doing my head in

now eventually going home and van breaks down
£300 later
why bother???
 
Talk to some of your mates dude, that should cheer you up. A lot of mine would have to work 3/4 days to earn that sort of coin.

Better it was you then me ,6 breakdowns all repaired , call out leaking gas back tomorrow to fix.sat with a Stella

I couldnt believe the bucket tho , full with about 20 litres in just as i got to top of stairs ping handle snpped and bucket bounced downstairs pinging the water everywhere lol

Horrible when that happens mate. I once walked down the stairs and my Henry Hoover came apart and it had no bag it. Black dust everywhere, all up the wall and over the carpet. Made a proper mess.

Not a great day, we all have them from time to time. Hopefully that's your bad luck done for a while. £300 a day working for HA isn't bad going at all on a positive note.
 
It cost him 300 quid! Cost him!! I feel your pain mate. Got a beer going spare if you want one!
