irritating when that happens. was it the syphon/handle in the way or the shape of the cistern?
 
Yes it's pretty much the same to service as FM. Pop top cap off, remove pin and twist off top to access diaphragm.

They do a brass shank version as well, but the last time I bought a brass one, it was slightly shorter shank than the plastic version as it had a different filter / flow restrictor which caused a problem and I've used plastic ones since.

Diaphragms are available from my merchant who stocks them. Not available from the big merchants though iirc. Main advantage is the float is a lot more compact than FM. Never had a cistern I couldn't fit one of these in.

no point using brass shank or ultra compact valves as your normal valve. just whip 'em out when situation calls for it. if you do a good few inlet valves a week those few extra squids over a year prob save you 500 nicker
