Toilet problem - help needed!

Hi all, this is my first post here.

I'm not a plumber and I have a problem with the toilet system on the first floor of my home.

There are two toilets up there, one in a bathroom and another about six feet away in an on-suite attached to a bedroom.

The problem is that both are always becoming blocked. Sometimes this can be cleared with a spring-type arbour designed for u-bends and sometimes a visit from a plumber with the proper equipment is required - which is getting expensive!

It seems to me that these two toilets are on the same level, with not enough drop to work properly as a system. A plumber told me that the one in the on-suite does not have enough flush to push the waste past the other toilet and into the outflow pipe which makes sense.

I have urged my family to use the on-suite only in emergencies and try to use the toilet downstairs but this does not seem to keep the thing from getting blocked up after 3-6 weeks.

What can I do to resolve this once and for all?

You probably need the soil pipes re-doing, not usually an easy job.
Pretty much any toilet you can buy will flush well enough to not get blocked after a few weeks 'IF' the soil is as it should be. In your case it obviously isn't.
Expect new holes in your exterior walls and lots of floorboards to be lifted.
Soils don't like lots of bends or sharp bends and if the drop on the pipe run isn't right you'll have this problem until it's ripped out and re-done.

As an afterthought: The new thick, triple ply, scented, quilted, braided, embroidered, gold leafed type loo rolls can cause blockages in the best of soil runs... Try some cheap loo roll if you're on the posh stuff 🙂

Doesn't really matter what floor level toilets are on, - they should all flush okay & not block.
Unless there are loads of tight bends or badly fitted soil pipes, or a flexible pan connector that has been contorted into a knot! Or if someone is flushing something other than loo paper - those wipes that women use will turn into a chamois leather if flushed & are a sewer blocker.

New build? Soil pipe external? Photographs will assist in diagnosis . Can u also bottle smell and post to mike he's a regular poo fiend

Fit a saniflo to the en suite having first established that the main 4 inch doesn't have a blockage.

That wont help and will most likely add to the troubles.

Not if it's independent to the other w/c. Macerator will pump out to 22mm vertical then into stack main sewer

No but I have installed the systems for over 30 years to overcome some ludicrously difficult situations. EG new basement flat dug under existing Victorian terrace with main sewer at new ceiling height 2.5 meters above w/c shower and kitchen and the other side of the property.

Chances are likme already stated , pipework with 2 many bends or running the wrong way , check theres sufficient vent pipe , and some of that thicker toilet rolls although are fine n soft on your arse they are bad for dissolving , dont put wet wipes , or ladies items down,
