Well done, just it is meant to be the return otherwise you lift the return temperature to flow temperature.

Can you explain on this. Would of thought he was correct to pump the hot water to the bottom of the towel rail leaving return at top

Basically you want the water flowing through the return to be cooler than the flow, so it needs to return from the bottom, not the top.

It probably won't be noticed much on a towel rail but if you have the flow in the bottom and return from the top opposite end you will find the bottom opposite end from where the flow enters will be cool as the thermals make the hot water rise very quickly meaning the opposite corner is starved of circulation.

Well are we not talking of a fully pumped system not gravity not going to get much chance to cool.

I can see what yous are saying and agree. But can't see it marking any difference in this case.

Believe me it has a big affect.
The first thing you will learn if you ever do a tboe system is mark your flows and make sure they all go in the top. If you don't you will give yourself extra work changing all the ones you got wrong when the rads only half heat.

Pipe connections

TBOE - Top Bottom Opposite End
TBSE - Top Bottom Same End
