Sure that wasn't there before, but seen it now... get £95, for "plumber (domestic general)", but I'm "Plumbing & Heating Engineer". This brings it to £356.16 both for £2m with hot works and £1,500 tools, makes no difference to price for "electrical contractor - domestic/small commercial" as an additional trade.

I know this is an old thread but has anyone had the misfortune to try and claim from tradesman saver? thinking of getting pl with them at £125 but finding that too good to be true as i've had quotes up to £550

I use them and never needed to claim. IMHO you can only asses how good the company is when the time comes and you actually need them, we all hope it's never !

Christ I am paying about 4 ton for 2 mill, 2500 tools, hot work etc. Direct line. Should have shopped around. Did with the van insurance and saved 50%.

They will all look for a way out if the time comes. I have an ongoing case for 2 years now over a leak that happened at a shower after i had fitted a combi. Nothing to do with the works and the shower was suitable for the change in pressure but it is looking like a court case.
I also have a mate who is a roofer who had a case where they had worked on a felt dormer and the house went on fire 6 hrs after the work was done.
That one cost him over 200k legel fees (luckily he could afford it) to defend in the high court before his insurers paid out mid session (he got his money covered).

Hot works have so many get outs and conditions that are nigh impossible to comply with. Make sure you understand the small print and still be prepared to fight if you are unlucky enough that the time ever comes.

i finally opted for corgi insurance at 300 for basic coverage (1m, 1.5k tools + hot works) as they offered 100k financial loss, 50k prof indemnity and legal cover all free with deal and underwritten with zurich. will review when renewal due but, as u say, hope i'll never need to find out how good they are 🙂

Sorry to raise an d thread but just saved £400 on our insurance with these guys. As I will pay any future claim out of my pockets wherever possible I want this insurance as cheap as I can get it.

Just looked at a quick quote for my first time P/l and it came down from 300 cheapest I've found so far to 220

what do you get for £220 plumben ?

That's 1 million cover and 100,000 legal cover for plumbing/bathroom install and gas/boiler installs domestic, and using heat equipment
but that's no tool cover but with £1000 tool cover it went up to around 290
The quick quote only tool me like 2 minutes
