Hi, i just had the same call. i owe £11,000.00 apantly.
How did you hassle get resolved? if it has?
Forget about it, they've tried nothing with me in the last four weeks. I did hear somebody say that when they paid this fee they were actually being co-etched into opening a new contract which led to further dispute

hi, I have had a similar call today saying I now owe £8000, funny that it went from that down to £4000 but only if I paid there and then, I didn't pay them anything. Will be seeking legal advice but am happy to be included in anyone's case if it means we all get the outcome we want! I for one will be ignoring any effort they make to contact me and request all of the recordings of our calls etc. I've had no leads in since joining so will be using that against them. Would be interested to hear if they have tried to contact anyone or if anyone has had a court summons! I doubt they will do it!

Hi, I've just joined, because I've a son-in-law with a sub £1M turnover joinery & building business and he has been 'had' by ufindalocal's extremely aggressive telephone tactics. He's got no 'admin staff' and so he's as busy as a one-armed paper hanger (which I'm sure is why he was targeted by them). I'm an almost-retired company director, so I DO have the time to take up the cudgels and have a go at these people. I believe that there's safety in numbers, so if anyone on here has been 'had' by them please PM me, as I intend to take this up with Office Of Fair Trading and Trading Standards people, as well as the Small Claims Court. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am currently been ripped off and scammed by this company and another company call getclickedon it's disgusting how they seem to be getting away with it!!! It is driving me mental!! I really need to get out of both contracts!!! I've contacted watchdog and I think you should do the same!!!! Every little helps!!!

Please contact watchdog!!! Another girl off their website contacted me about them and has asked me if I had any work from them but obviously I haven't !!! We have both emailed watchdog if we all do it then something will have to be done!!!!!

They sound like an evil gutter trash company...I'm glad this thread comes up 3rd one down when you Google Ufindlocal.....

They talk the talk, send you info packs until you sign the contract. Then it is weekly calls for more ads and premium ads, top of the list ads.

Then they wait.... Until you are automatically signed up for another year because you forgot to cancel the contract 60 days before it ended.

Then they hit you with a bill 5 times more than the previous year!

Going to citizens advice bureau on Friday morning . Hopefully they can help

Hi Gasfun,

I have just been conned by this company too, I just wondered how you got on at the Citizens Advice Bureau, were they able to help?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Vicky,

I contacted them through the watchdog website last night. I am hoping they will do something!

I'm with you on this. I was conned yesterday and managed to negotiate from £5000 to £1500 to renew the contract, which I didn't want to renew, but the original sales order which I esigned states you cannot cancel your order if you have electronically signed. I was told that if I didn't pay I would be taken to court, bully tactics no doubt! I have contacted Watchdog, so if enough people contact them, they may look into it, a bit of a long shot though. I would be interested in any feedback from your legal advice. Thanks.

You can do a company check on them.

Complaints about unfair trading terms should be made to the Office Of Fair Trading.

As far as I understand it, bailiffs can only be authorised by a county court judgement. e.g. normally used by national/local government authorities for non-payment of VAT, council tax, parking fines etc. Private debt collectors are not bailiffs and do not have their powers.

Clarity on Agreements

Our standard agreement does contain an Automatic Renewal provision and this is made clear in the standard agreement that all customers are required to sign prior to their order being made live.

At the renewal point, we would write to you to invite your renewal. You would have a standard 21 days to withdraw your consent to the extension or the renewal of the agreement and if you did not do so, you would be billed for a further 12 months as per the signed terms.

There are of a lot of inaccuracies and libellous claims in postings on this forum about the process and the prices charged.

If you are a genuine customer, and have any queries, or require assistance, please contact us directly and a member of the Operations team will be happy to help you.

They can be reached at operations dot manager at ufindalocal dot com or by calling us on 01277 699722.

Yours faithfully

just because you have signed an agreement, electronically or otherwise, that does not mean the ''contract'' you have signed is enforceable.

Why so many people get caught into this so called Bailiffs threats, beats me??? A bailiff will only attend and remove property if a court has found against you.
From what has been said on here so far, I doubt the company will win any court case. I guarantee you they will not even bother to attend court even if they are the ones who initiated the court proceedings.

If you are confident enough, my advise is: DO NOT PAY.

i would like to point out that any company selling any contract also has prove that the contract has worth(contractual value) in a courtroom .
If enough people can prove that the contract has no worth/ contractual value then this could be shown in a courtroom that contracts were sold under false preferences as the creditor knew them to have no worth/contractual value.

if any people on this thread have issues with any company then you need to get together don't moan about it club your resources and evidence together and do something about it the longer you leave it unresolved the worse your problems will get .

my comment is not libelous.

I agree do not pay and yes go to court whether it is instigatedby them or you just make sure you turn up !
I am making no comments as mine would be Blasphemous probabally inaccurate and definitely Libellous !
Sue me That is if you like my old shirts as I make sure that is all I own !

I can just see croppie ''twitching''. All this: sue me, not libellous, only have a shirt, ......
soon he will pull the plug on this thread:smile5:

Are most Plumbers on here aware of MCOL (Money Claim Online) I meet people all the time who have been done over and i see it online more and more.

Terms of agreement are in addition to your legal rights, please remember that.

i think that before anyone says anything that they may regret in the future this thread needs closing

Moved to the arms due to legal issue.
