Problem with this one, on hot water temp ramps up and cuts off delivering hot cold hot cold at tap. Would suggest plated heat ex, but..... central heating does the same? Flow pipe gets hot.

Now thinking main heat ex could be blocked up.

Cheers in advance.

The ecotec has flexi hoses which block up and give poor circulation. I can't remember if the cxi does or not, but if it does then start there. Either way sounds like a blockage and the system will probably need some tlc.

There is a small flexi on the flow out of the main heat I have it a little squeeze and felt fine.

Main heat exchanger then. Changed 100s of them waterways are too small and prone to blocking. Can be cleaned but not worth the hassle I can swap one in 1/2hr from drain down to refill.

Cheers Phoenix. Yeah changed a few myself don't think they supply the gasket with it. I'll have to get a price on it. Big call to make jumping in on the main heat ex [emoji51]

Big symptom for those and vailliants is they will only go upto about 50 degrees and sit at low flame then will suddenly shut down. Even though your not getting much back on the return. Firm I used to work for were big on them, they probably fitted 150-200 of them a year.

Has it got a magnaclean on it and what's the water condition like?

No magnaclean on it but when I drained boiler and pumped out vessel it was like mud.

Yeah virtually new boiler money. Most of my customers if it is going to be a lot of parts I usually just swap the boiler. Less hassle and they have a warranty then, but not everyone has the money all the time.
