My daughter and her husband live in a property that they are trying to sell - this is relevant because quick fixes are preferred to cosmetically-perfect solutions. Their ancient power-shower has packed up and the plumber has sourced a new one but concluded that he can't fit it without moving the hot and cold water feeds, which are currently not spaced correctly for the new shower unit.
This is a royal pain because there are no replacement tiles for the shower, and access to the piping behind the wall will involve cutting out the studwork outside the bathroom, which has old Artex on it, so undesirable for several reasons. What could have been a simple job has now become a project.

Any suggestions please?
eg:
  • are there power showers which have external (not rear) water feeds that could be hooked up with flexible pipe to the stubs?
  • could the power shower be set off the wall a bit to allow the pipes to have a dog-leg/kink installed to make it fit. Is that even possible? If so, how would you do it?

Any experienced plumbers here who have had a similar problem and found ingenious solutions?
