I've got a customer who would like underfloor heating in a small bathroom, the floor is concrete and about 3 inches from the level of the kitchen, (the next room) at the moment they have a combi and rads so there are heating pipes going to the room, would it be possible to have new rad valves above floor level behind the door and a coil of speed fit/hep clipped the floor then screed over so all u see is the the rad valves?? Not the normal way I know but they want the cheapest and quickest way??

I would probably work but if you have ever fitted underfloor you would know that it runs at a far lower temp than rads.
Plus it hasn't the fast response of radiators so needs to be on longer.

you would not like a floor that reached 60 to 70 degrees.

If they can't afford to do it properly fit something else.
hope this helps.

Agree 100% floor will melt feet at 70c

And unless you put insulation under the pipework (which you don't have room for) you'll burn a hole thro to the centre of the Earth and still not heat the bathroom.

cheers chaps, I have done underfloor a couple of times in the past but not like this, I did say to them it's an idea it might not work but they really want it, they were thinking about going down the electric heated floor route instead, it may be a better solution. Cheers anyway.
