Hi all
went to look at a job today and the customer would like an unvented cylinder got a 25mm main coming in but due to the way the house is trying to get a balanced cold feed away from the cylinder will mean loads of floor up and a general pain.
Is it ok to put a prv in the cold just after the stopcock then run 22mm up to the cylinder???
i think I remember somthing about the 22 to the cylinder having to be uninterrupted.

Yeah that's fine. It's a good thing to do anyway as the balanced cold connections on the combi valves are always very restrictive.

Richie, you maybe lucky, there's one or two prv's available where you can split it by putting the prv at the stop tap and the rest by the cylinder, caleffi if memory serves , but getting rare. It will obviously depend on the cylinder you go for.

Just blank off the balance cold at the inlet gear before the cylinder

been to one with combined valve missing at cyl, panicked for a few minutes till I found it under the sink🙂
