hi my name is mark and ive popped over fron the electricians forum for some advice

i have a santon 170l indirect unvented and there is a small leek on what i belive is part of presure reducing valve
(see pic) its leeking on the bottom where the scale can be seen

also when the boiler is running i get a small trickle down the 22mm copper discharge pipe to outside

i wondered if the 2 things were related and can i replace the leeking part

thanks mark xmas 2011 023.jpgxmas 2011 025.jpg

you need to get a G3 qualified engineer(plumber with unvented ticket) to repair the leak and service the cylinder (check all valves, expansion vessel pressures, filters and setting etc...) the running discharge suggests possible expansion vessel pressure or failure.

unvented cylinder should have an anual inspection/service by a qualified engineer.

Sounds like expansion vessel has lost charge and the prv needs looking at to fix leak
Get an unvented qualified plumber out should not be a big job
And as said should really be checked annually
