Dynst where are you? Open to quotes from forum members?

remember as trade we can get you far better deals on the equipment than yourself.

paying for materials yourself is more costly from the outset, then as we don't get a mark up we increase our labour to cover the losses often (we are running businesses)

a decent engineer will sort all of this out for you and you will likely get a better system for the same price in the long run.

as for you looking at a just a 300 litre unvented for 1100............

get one of us!!
you're gonna cost yourself a fortune

You need to size the cylinder to your hot water demands. Then size your boiler to the demand of the entire heating and hot water system. Allow 3 to5 kW for the cylinder if the manufacturer does not suggest a figure.
I was going to say that, no point in just getting the biggest for the sake of it. One bathroom and a shower room does not need a 300 litre cylinder, that's just silly.

Also just a pointer, if you must buy a worster get the regular cdi as much less to leak / go wrong. External expansion, filter and pump obviously few pence more but you won't be crying about repairs in a few years time

I have a combi with inbuilt storage similar to what your fitter is proposing.

Its absolutely brilliant for the first few minutes, and will support multiple outlets no bother. However, once the on-board storage is exhausted, performance is down to that of a middle-of-the-road combi, which by comparison, is pants.

Ray a man of your means and you haven't managed to get a custard to fit u a mish mash of old stock surely u must have a soiled worster boiler and cylinder plus panels ? Or even a freebee?
