use of expanding foam on copper pipe

View the thread, titled "use of expanding foam on copper pipe" which is posted in Central Heating Forum on UK Plumbers Forums.

Hi
I have heard lots of contrasting opinion regarding the use of expanding foam over copper pipes,
Is it really corrosive? If yes is there any brand compatible with copper.
Waiting for some tips from competent people
Best regards
😱

never heard of foam corroding copper - but thats not to say it doesnt.

but one thing i would like to say is i hate the stuff!!

best thing to do with expanding foam is to fill your mates tool box up with it after hes gone home, and be there first thing next day to watch him try and get a screwdriver out! Cruel but amusing, moral - always toake your tools home!!!!!!!!!!
