seen some screw extractor bits you put into drill and put into reverse and they are supposed to remove damaged screws but never used them. i sheared the bolt when removing a pump on a baxi 105 instant and had to drill it out

bought some of them from screwfix today, left hand drill bits gonna try them tomorrow, cheers bud

Spray with plus gas available from halfords etc.....leave to soak, dry residue.....heat with blow lamp on a small flame using heat mat to protect surroundings ....they will fall out!

thanks mate had never heard of plus gas, will be buying some tomorrow!!

It is used in the auto trade for removing seized spark plugs from cylinder heads etc.....and many more uses, do not confuse with WD40 totally different products.

when you heat the 4 bolts as hot as you dare (obviously remove stat off the plate heat ex etc) let them cool for 20 seconds before attempting to undo them, as the metals cool at different rates this causes the surface tension to fall, meaning they will fall out!

hey all done now ( had to change my username etc to set up new account) got some plus gas and a screw extraction kit from local tool shop and omg the screws fell out HAPPY DAYZ thanks for all the advice

hi vern i still needed the extraction kit,the heads on the bolts were so sheared ,the kit is made by trend and it cost about £16 but mate well worth it

by the way does anyone know what the warranty on a plate heat exchanger in regards to scale, this one is 4 years old and had a magnetic scale reducer fitted, but it is totally blocked solid .lee

Which only goes to prove, once again, that they don't work !
Never mind BG these are the best rip ever, no moving parts, cheap to produce, carry on doing nothing for years unit scale builds up & then they say must be too fast a flow rate. What a wheeze.

I must admit to being sceptical too Chris.....all down to the mains water quality and hardness IMHO
