Luckily my kettling baxi boiler is being replaced on Friday by a new Vaillant Combi but in the last couple of weeks I've noticed incredibly loud noises coming from the pipes that lead from the boiler under the floor. It sounds like someone is literally banging the pipes with a hammer or smacking the floorboards. Very strange and loud and not just standard old plumbing gurgles etc. Is this something that will go away once the combi is fitted or am I being incredibly hopeful and naieve? The noise seems to occur once the thermostat has reached set temp and boiler switches off.

Is it making popping noises once it reaches temp and switches off?

If it is, it'll be the kettling heat exchanger, deffo new boiler time!!

make sure the room where is your roomstat HAS NOT GOT TRV valves ! YOU NEED it as by pass otherwise pump will pass way soooooon

Power flushing can clean the system if it's sludged up, there are many central heating and boiler problems related to sludge build-up in the system. This could be one of those times.
