Heres a funny one for ya'll, went to a compact 28 which will not ignite. Its had a new pcb and 2 gas valves as its getting to ignition stage and wont open the gas valve.

I checked for 240v at the board and 240v at the plug going in to the gas valve. I'm left thinking its a bad batch of gas valves as I just put another new one in and it still won't open!

The boiler is getting replaced but i'm curious as to what the problem could be, any ideas?

Just a thought.
The green pcb fitted to latter models requires the seperate ignition board fitted as well.
Earlier models fitted with red pcb must be replaced with new red pcb.

Know a few engineers being caught out with this.

Apologies I meant to put this in the private forum, after a lot of swearing and walks to the van I got this sucker. The harness from the PCB to the gas valve was showing 230v at the gas valve end but the valve wouldn't open, I suspected the plug was loose so moved the pins on the valve slightly plugged it back in and hey presto its was back in action!

Interestingly the Vokera tech guy I had on the phone was adamant it was a faulty valve, and he told me I had to have the valve plugged in to check it was getting 240v, I was getting 240v at the plug without it plugged in
