Worcester Bosch Greenstar 29HE commissioned 2003 -pcb Dec 2006.
Drained down this week added couple of new rads boiler off for a few days. Refilled today, bled radiators. Turned back on and after 2-3 mins C1 fault code came up. Programmer shows boiler working but it doesn't fire up.

Any suggestions please

What's it say in the MI's for C1 fault? Has gas been turned off?

Who carried out the drain down and work on the rads?

C1 fault says fan speed too low. Gas not touched.
I did the drain down and new rads.

Hi George, Yes worcester will do a fixd price, and I think you can spred the cost, some parts can be costly for these boilers, sometimes you turn off/on and fan will just pack in.
 
Thanks for your help. After your comment yesterday I rang Worcester today and have signed up for them to sort it out and carry out an annual service and the price will include coming out when/if it goes wrong in the future, as its now 9 yrs old I thought that might be wise especially as the pcb seems to go every few years. Not like the old boilers before electronics that soldiered on for 30+ years with just the occasional clean.

Good at least its sorted ! could you let us know the outcome please sometimes its somthing we have overlook'd.! if your only at Yelverton I may pass you some time look out for transit van with JTS on side.

Do worcester work on anything over 10 years old. I heard from a customer who had it serviced every year as soon as it was 10 years old they cancelled the contract saying they will not cover a boiler of that age. So you might end up starting a contract and them cancelling it next year. ( I could be wrong though as this came from a customer who's boiler was a right state)
 
The fixed price offer from Worcester is indeed a great thing and a wise move to go for it.
As for spares Worcester used to be better on that. A few years back they would even provide spares for real oldies. Long gone ar those times. But I would not moan too much. Looking from one side one could say it's a sales point. Looking from the other side it appears to be a green initiative to get rid of the inefficient models.
Means Worcester is saving the world and the plumbers from starving all in one.
 
Just to say Worcester man arrived on time Tues morning. changed the pcb which had blown up, did a mini clean up is coming back to do a service middle of next year. Nothing to pay having signed up to regular monthly contract. says will continue to look after Green boilers for many years. So fingers crossed. Since then we flushed the system refilled including new rads and so far everything is good.

I'll give a toot next time I race past 🙂
