The diagram is the way it is in case the waste blocks, they don't want the water backing up into the boiler, in the diagram the sink will overflow and protect the boiler, in your configuration the water will spill out the pipes and protect the boiler so it's fine

i would tee it after the washing machine trap and add a hep vo trap inline to protect from water backing up and seal with a 40mm to 21.5mm solvent weld reducer.

Yup it has but their literature only shows external air breaks.
even so they say you have to terminate downstream of a waste trap so that install is wrong anyway.
I guess it's not 100% right but i wouldn't be ID'ing the boiler over it 🙂
It's a wb so water leaking out of plastic connections is going to happen no matter how u do conny?
