Hello,

I am moving into a property that has odd plumbing for the washing machine. In the past we have always used a standing pipe or a spigot for the drain hose on a washing machine.

In this property, there is a T-pipe under the sink and off of that is a horizontal pipe and then a 90 degree connector that just ends.

On the floor is a spare bit of PVC pipe. It seems to me the previous owners propped this PVC pipe in the end and used it as a sort of (mini) standing pipe.

Is this even a correct and safe way to connect a drain hose? Please see my (awful) drawing below.

Thanks.

The drawing is too awful for me to offer advice.
That doesnt look like pvc pipe to me, more like a black line.
And the floor level seems too high.

Seriously - cant you just add a photo

And welcome
