Howdy,

We have an issue with water hammer since going to a pressurised system from a gravity fed one. It occurs when the downstairs toilet or washing machine are being used - which makes sense as they are on their own loop of pipes it seems (weird extension with do it yourself plumbing it seems).

We got a SIOUX CHIEF DW660-H WATER HAMMER ARRESTOR and attached it to the washing machine tap and this fixed it completely, but as warned by the reviews, these mechanical arrestors tend to eventually fail, which ours had after maybe a year.

Can anyone suggest a permanent solution - i.e. getting the pipes changed somehow, or a fancier arrestor, maybe one that can be pumped?

Thanks

Hi, Google shock arrestor?

We currently have a mechanical arrestor, I assume you are suggesting the ones you can recharge?

Do you have any suggestion as where I can get an inline shock arrestor, as the only ones obviously for purchase will require plumbing in.

Thanks

Not aware of one that doesn't need plumbing in but most will be 1/2" male thread.
You could ask the plumber to teach you how to change it?
