What is the average water pressure into a house from a boundary tap? I've only got 2bar

where are you testing it from?

cold kitchen tap is 2.5bar, basin cold is 2bar, and it runs a combi.

it differs from area to area

I think the local water suppliers have to guarantee a min of 1.0 bar

when you turn the hot tap on it's only a gentle flow, but if you turn the cold on at the same time the hot stops. so there's not enough pressure to run both taps.

is it just in the kitchen or do you get the same results in the bathroom? also what kind of tap is it? and are there any restrictions like flexi connectors or isolation valves because these will restrict your flow rate

no iso valves, no felexi pipes, just old galv pipe in from street

if its causing a problem then you can fit some flow restrictors in the supplys to cold taps to help keep hot running.
