The cold water supply in my kitchen has stopped but is still ok in bathroom and en suite. Is this a supply problem or perhaps the tap??

you haven't given much info to work with
assuming the kitchen cold is mains fed, is the bathroom stored water or mains?
do you have a combi boiler, if so do you still have hot water?
what I am trying to get to, is there any mains water coming in to the house? if there is then it points to a problem with the individual tap, or pipe to it.

Once water has run out from the cold water tank your bathroom will be dry too
