I have had a couple on inquiries for cable flashings. From companies fitting PV. panels. It would appear banging a hole through slates, passing cable through and adding silicon is not excepted by some Clerks Of Works. The image is a flashing that i have developed and made for existing clients. Is there a market for this item? Your feed back would be much appreciated. image-cable-weathering.jpg

Hey justlead1 looks like a very nice item I would suggest you register yer self on the electricians forum and ask them as there are a lot of guys doin PV on there

Hi all thanks for the feed back, quite positive. The cost is likley to be around a score. i have listed some benefits below that i will use for marketing. Any additions would be gratefully received.
Listed below are a few points to consider.

* I can supply with any size base and outlet.
* By using code 4 sheet lead wind lift is overcome.
* The nature of lead will not cut into cable/wire,
* The longevity can be in access of a century.
* Dresses well to any undulation of the roofing materials.
* Within the skill base of most when trimming is required.
* Allow ventilation around cables but remains weather tight.
* Adding or removing cable during the life of the building becomes easy.
* Made for purpose. As opposed to drilling a hole and silicon around cable.
* Supports the lead working skills of cottage industry.
* Can be 100% recycled in the event of removal.
* Has the aesthetics associated with roofing.

Hi Thanks for your posts quite positive. I have had some intrest shown from large power suppliers, however the rates they wish to pay are not in keeping with my own. I will keep you posted.

That may be true Eco, but you've not seen my lead welding.....it looks nothing like that. Blobs and holes everywhere. You mean it's supposed to look like it does in the photo above? Oooooh.

Thanks for your comments Gentlemen. I will keep you posted on any advancement regarding the product. (Thing could have been easier, as my father left me a million. But forgot to tell me where he left it)
Good Luck
