any van will only do 22-25 at 120mph you lead foot you lol. in fact that's quite good for 120mph!

the rover 75 diesel (chipped to 174 bhp) thats my private wheels does about 18 mpg at 130 mph on the autobahn of course officer

but what does the transit do? i am thinking of getting a small one or an expert

I think I will go and test drive a Peugeot expert as this seems to be a good inbetween sized van. Thanks again for all advice

I have an old Land Rover Freelander (diesel). I can get a full bathroom suite in, it just takes 3 metre pipe lengths. I can get to customers in the hills no matter how much snow or ice is about. It cuts through the worst muddy building site and is a family vehicle at thw weekend. It does about 32 to the gallon.

I love it!

You Transit drivers (and any other biggish van) do not do yourselves any favours regarding fuel consumption, your feet are always welded to the floor.

Perfect example is joining the bypass from a roundabout, I build up a steady speed in the slow lane and ease it into fith when the revs are high enough, overtaking me are Transits thundering past coming off the roundabout foot to floor and reving like a bunstand.

Don't get me wrong, I used to drive around foot to floor all day long but it cost me a fortune.

Hmmm - I must be doing something wrong cos I get between 36 and 41mpg out of mine!

Mind you, I seem to have loads of friends cos everyone keeps flashing their lights and waving at me ...
