Hi all, needing a bit of advise please.

3 month ago I completed my 2 year apprenticeship (as an unpaid apprentice) had to leave my employer as I couldn't continue onto my level 3 for another two years being unpaid, so I left him then got a job a next for a bit extra cash in the mean time.

I got a phone call last week from a big firm in durham asking me to work for them as they've heard good things about me, so went and had a chat etc and I start on the 28th 😀.

So obviously I went straight to college to tell them ill be coming back and they 'advised me' to go down the renewable route instead of the gas route inc on renewable route are G3, wras + a CAT2 pack which is your gas portfolio but it stops there.

If I pick the gas route I obviously get the exact same course apart from renewables but get the acs exam included.

Which route do use think is best? and give reasons please.

A)Renewables + g3 + wras + gas portfolio
b)Gas + g3 + wras + acs exam

Obviously both courses include Advanced plumbing systems etc etc and i need to catch up on 3-4 month of work 🙁

Please Advise.

Many Thanks.

Do it the cheapest way, if both courses include full gas training then the choice is
1) how much to do ACS assessment only ( about £500-600)
2) how much to do renewables training and assessment ( cost depends on what exactly you get under "renewables" and also what might be useful in the future to you)
Sit and go the maths and save money, you can add the one you don't take anytime after that with little effort
Personally I would do gas

Renewable course includes, ground source, air source, and solar. if I picked the gas route do you have an idea how much it would be to then get renewables after?, btw for the next two year these courses are free for me...

Thanks

I don't know prices for these, best to check with your local places, and also decide if you take gas route and pay for renewables do you want them all

Tough one, if renewable really take of your in the money. But the impression I get is it's more the bigger properties out in the sticks that have it. Depends where you are.
Theres no real market where I live.

I think im just going to do the gas side as there is demand for it and add on renewables if/when needed.

cheers lads
