I'm not sure if this has already been asked before?

Just wondering if people on here have experience of using different system filters such as Magnaclean, MagnaBooster 3, TF1 and Sentinel?

The general concensus from most of the companies I have spoken to seems to be that the Magnaclean is the most effective.

However, the MagnaBooster 3 by SpiroTech does look like a good product. British Gas installers seem to use the MagnaBooster filters but I've been told that this is because they receive a bulk discount on them!

I am considering the MagnaBooster 3 or Sentinel over the Magnaclean as space below our boiler is limited.

I'd be interested to hear other's opinions though.

hello mate, I'm useing the spirotec now, TF1 a but bulky and cheep looking, Magnaclean had problems leaking around top, Spirotec nice heavey item feels like you have got somthing for your money, looks expensive when customer can see it nice big lump of brass instead of £100.00 worth of plastic.

everyone will give there own preference and reasons for it,
I like the spirotech but they all do the same thing so it will be down to personal choice.
and yes it has been covered plenty previously

Aparantly bg won't take on mangaclean,s anymore because of claims through leaking. Ha a few leak myself. Very frustrating and time consuming and they seem to have a built in timer so it always leaks at the weekend!

Which part has been leaking? I have heard the copper tails are a bit suspect...

I fit the magnaclean,fitted loads,never had a leak,maybe lucky,a college swears by the spirotec,

I think they all seem to do the job,on a standard domestic heating system,so they should really

imho

Had a few leaks from the valve glands and 1 from the top. Had a burst magnet on one about 3 years ago. They have seemingly improved but i don't use them anymore. I use TF1's if there is space or magnaboosters if it is tight. Prefer the TF1's but as Puddle said, they all do the same job.

Magnaboosters 2 but the rep was in plumb centre trying to sell me magnabooster 3s

i normal buy them from ebay cheaper but only if i order them in time lol

I'm sure they all do the same job, personally I've used magna cleans for a few years now, not seen any leaks yet, not so keen on the twin tech though.

I've not had a problem with a magnaclean yet. I've fitted one twintech and wasn't keen either. being directional it was a pain to fit where I wanted it.

The olives won't hold for me unless I use ptfe. The top seal has leaked numerous times, seems tight but peas out. All in al aboutl 5% of them have leaked. Might be my luck, I use tf1's now.

I install a magna clean with every boiler i fit, they are competetive on price and they work well the only gripe i have is that the isolation valves that are supplied with them seem really poor quality.

I had a magnet that looked like it exploded, was this the same with the one you found?
