hi can anybody help, i have a worcester bosch 24i junior boiler that was fitted 2 years ago,a engineer came out to service it under the waranty and since then it keeps loosing pressure????ive checked all the pipes and no leaks anywhere,so was told to put clear bags over the prv valve outlet outside the house to see if it leaks,it does but only a few drips a day,,I do have to fill it up atleast 5 times a day with the filling loop, but as soon as the heating is on it dropps within 5 mins down to no pressure atall, can anybody help, many thanx carl

Don't sound like
Vessel it would be discharging if you have to fill 5 x a day that's a lot of water I'd be very concerned where it was going !!!

just a update, ive put a plastic clear bag on both blowoffs lastnight,1 plastic that goes into the soil pipe, nothing there, but the copper pipe bag is nearly half full????????any ideas,,,thanx

the plastic pipe is not a blow off, connect it back immediately it is the condensate drain and there is a potential of products of combustion entering the room. If your PRV is dripping then get an engineer to fix it simples this is not a simple DIY job

lol could do with winning the lotto at the moment mickie,,,ive been told its the prv valve is clogged up???????

G Quigley67,THE PIPE IS OUTSIDE THE HOUSE,god how many more times, think you take these things 2 seriouse m8,chill out

It's unlikely the trap will be empty and the POCs will come out tbh, but it CAN happen. Anyway, the PRV has been diagnosed by an engineer. Although PRVs don't just get clogged up without actually discharging and causing the seal to be lifted. The problem could have been due to the system being over pressurised or by the vessel not working correctly, especially being as the OP said the pressure drops quicker when the heating is on.

the engineer who serviced it could have opened the prv to let out some pressure or test it leaving some debris inside. If the problem started once the warranty service was done then you should have called them back to fix.

This is the expansion vessal, Without a doubt i can almost garuntee you on this boiler you will need a new expansion vessel. Some people find them hard to change but others do them with ease, An other option is an external vessal. Your looking at £200 - £250 supplied and fitted.

Been to one today that was discharging when the heating was on. Really hadn't got enough time to drain and check the vessel, but it did have air in it. Put it down for someone to go back when not on emergency call out.
