Never come across this before..

Boiler in demand for heating, sounds like running water from the bottom of the flue where it meets the condense trap, also a gurgling sound from the terminal (went to check for blockages). Condense run blocked? Boiler keeps locking out.

Also, fan sounds like it's taking off at times. Checked fan and no apparent faults. Spoke to Worcester who said could be the bearing membrane.

Anyone come across these and can shed some light?

Cheers

Had a few condense trap not cleaned out (also see water coming out the flue terminal if horizontal)

condensate trap probably blocked, have you cleaned it?

No.. literally just went to have a look, gonna quote to do the works as didn't get there til 7:30 this evening.. gonna do it all when I replace the membrane for the fan. Also gonna replace his flue as it's in a bit of a state from builders moving the boiler location when doing an extension

And me,also seen the 21.5 block solid if its connected to a sink, doubt its a bearing plate as worcester have advised, these normally vibrate or a smell of gas through the fan when they fail

I smelt gas.. had to put a sniffer to it at one point but it went

Had one just under half full of condense sounded like a washing machine when fan was running

So the bearing plate & membrane sit inside the fan don't they? So take the fan out and take apart the fan?

You half way there to do a full service if there's money for the extras jay (new burner seals and electrodes etc)

Might just sell it that way Shaun.. Makes more sense. New flue, boiler service etc - sounds tidier!! Cheers 🙂

So the bearing plate/membrane is inside the fan, right?

Without looking it up don't have a clue sorry , why new flue?

Although it's not leaking (tested it), the builders gaffer-taped the elbow joint, all screws were missing (which I replaced) - I just don't trust it. Plus Worcester said the blockage could be at the flue rather than condense trap so was gonna take the internal flue apart to inspect/clean and while I was at it replace the flue.

Fair enough, Replace the flue don't even bother taking it out and inspecting it

Unlikely the flue is blocked / restricted tho

Ah ok.. don't want to create work if it's unnecessary! I'll service it with new burner gasket and electrodes and see what happens.

Cheers Shaun
